Michjael Ray Whiddon, Sr. of Gainesville died Saturday at North Florida Regional Medican Center. He was 58.
Mr. Whiddon was a retired officer with the Gainesville Police Department and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
He was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Mr. Whiddon was working at Compas Bank and was also secretary for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No.4385. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and Gator Sports.

She was born on March 19, 1944 in Williston, FL to George W. and Timmie (Sullivan) Willis. She moved to Alachua 20 years ago from Newberry, FL. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked in Medical Administration at North Florida Regional Medical Center and Hospice. She was an avid FSU fan and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ronald L. Woods Sr. of Holmes Beach died suddenly, Wednesday at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. He was 47.
Born in Indianapolis, Mr. Woods lived in Gainesville for many years before moving to the Holmes Beach area. He was a cab driver.
Survivors include a son, Ronald L. Woods Jr. of Bradenton; his mother, Katherine Woods of Ft. Myers; a brother, Mickie Woods of Ft. Myers; and a sister, June Crenshaw of Oxfor.
