Phil Loggins

Phil Loggins

1943-04-23 2021-02-26
Phillip Edwards Loggins, Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2021. Phil was born on April 23, 1943 in Humboldt, Tennessee to the late Phillip Edwards Loggins, Sr. and the late Martha Helen Bell Loggins. Raised in Gainesville, Florida since the age of ten, he’d been a Tallahassee resident since 1967. His loves included his family and the outdoors, a lifelong lover of watching, hunting and fishing. He was known for his blue eyes, quick wit and willingness to lend a hand. A leisurely rock on a porch always seemed to call to him. He spent 37 years as a well-loved community banker for what is now Capital City Bank Group. He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Dorothy Hampton Loggins, his two children, Elizabeth Loggins Radecker (Chad) of New Orleans, Louisiana and Phillip Edwards Loggins, III (Paige) of Tallahassee, his two grandchildren, Alexandra Faith Loggins and Hampton Randal Loggins of Tallahassee, and his sister, Melinda Loggins Moon (Earl). Memorial arrangements are pending for later this year. The family asks that donations in Phil’s name be made to St. Francis Wildlife Association or Birdsong Nature Center as a way of honoring his memory.

Always a great smile. Seeing Phil was like you had seen him just yesterday although it had been many years. I remember he was the first of the  boys that got a motorcycle. Although a Moped wasn's exactly a "motorcycle", it was good enough for a bunch of boys. May God  comfort Dot and the family.
