'MICKEY' MITCHELL
Alachua - Byron 'Mickey' Mitchell Salter III, 70, of Alachua passed away, surrounded by love, on July 23, 2015.
He was born in Gainesville, FL to Byron M. Salter, Jr. and Dorothy Hartman Salter. Mickey graduated from Gainesville High School and later attended Central Florida Community College. He was an AVID Gator Fan as well as a Nascar Fan. He was a former member of the Fightin' Gator Touchdown Club and Lifetime member of North Central Florida Water Well Association. He served proudly in the US Navy and left with an honorable discharge. He worked as a Salesman with Gorman Company and DSI.
He leaves behind his fiancée Terri Hicks, his brother Keith Salter and Sister Mary (Ed) Decker, son Chad Salter and Grandson Darby Salter. He is preceded in death by his parents and loyal and faithful dog 'Ugly.' He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested to E.T. York Haven Hospice of Gainesville, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, Florida 32606.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 3rd, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Milam Funeral Home of Newberry.
