Inarae Fletcher Young, A native of Gainesville, FL and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 65.
She attended Newcomb College and the University of Florida and had a Bachelor's degree in English. She was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, where she was former Director of Christian Education, a member of the Seekers Sunday School class and sang in the choir and the Women's Ensemble. She was also a member of United Methodist Women and served as President of that organization. She was a lifetime member of the Woman's Club and served on the Board of Managers of that organization. She was also a member of Lagniappe Women's Club. She was President of Trianon, the auxiliary for the ARC and was active with the Baton Rouge Opera as Treasurer and as President of BRAVO. She leaves behind her a wide circle of friends who brought joy and meaning to her life, particularly the Lunch Bunch.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Woodrow Fletcher; a brother, Arthur Furman Fletcher; and her first husband, Howard Clay Boston.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Harold W. Young, Jr.; her mother, Thelma Hodge Fletcher of Gainesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Steve Beyt of Crowley, TX; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris Boston and Holly Tencer of Hood River, OR; a sister and brother-in-law, Judie and Richard Furman of Gainesville; a brother, Gene Fletcher of Crystal River, FL; and two grandchildren, Melanie and Benjamin Beyt.
