Janet Ernst Campbell of Alachua died Saturday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, after a long illness. She was 46.
Born in Lake City, Mrs. Campbell lived in Gainesville before moving to Alachua in 1973. She was a graduate of UF College of Education. She was a second grade teacher at Alachua Elementary School, listed in Who's Who Among American Teachers and a member of Phi Delta Kappa honor society.
Mrs. Campbell raised and showed paint horsed. She was a member of the American Paint Horse Assoc. and the Florida and Dixie Paint Horse clubs. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Alachua.
Survivors include husband Charles W. Campbell of Alachua; sons, Mark David Campbell and Stephen Lee Campbell both of Alachua; a daughter, Christine Campbell of Alachua; her parents of Gainesville; and a sister, Barbara of Merritt Island.
