Ernest W. Bell Jr. of Punta Gorda, and formerly of Gainesville, died Feb. 14th at Faucett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlott. He was 59.
Mr. Bell was born in Indiana and grew up in Gainesville. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School and attended the University of Florida. He was a retired airline pilot.
He was a former pilot for former UF football coach Ray Graves, and also participated in Operation Desert Storm with Evergreen Airline, transporting troops and supplies.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Tina Bell of Punta Gorda; and sons Ernest Bell III of Fort Worth, TX, and Willam Bell of Georgetown, Washington, DC.
