BERTANI, JANE POWELL, 62, passed away on February 2, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland, TN, she came to Florida with her parents, predeceased, Jim and Jean Powell. She graduated from Gainesville High School and attended University of Miami. She was Head Majorette for the Hurricanes. She married, traveled, had three children and eventually settled in North Miami Beach, Florida. She became the Office Manager of the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, a position she held for over 20 years. She was a member on several boards including the Violent Gang Task Force and involved in the planning of numerous charity events. Her organizational skills were second to none. She was a very special lady whose beauty instantly lit up a room. Her love of the Chamber was only surpassed by her passion and pride for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Paige, sons, Jeff and Ryan, son-in- law, Mark, daughter-in-law, Kiandra, four grandchildren, Lilah, Shayna, Jameson, Matea, extended family of Ericka and Taylor and many friends. For those that desire, the family suggests donations in her memory to the Humane Society. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held.
