  NEWBERRY  --  Charles Frank "Butch" Rain died Thursday at his home after a lengthy illness.  He was 46.

  Mr. Rain was born in Miani and spent most of his life in Alachua County.  He graduated from Gainesville High School (1962) and the University of Florida, where he received a bachelor's degree in business.  Mr. Rail was a real estate appraiser and a U.S. Navy veteran.  He was a Baptist.

  Survivors include his father, Cornelius "Neal" Rain of Gainesville;  a sister, Yvonne Macklin of Deltona; and two brothers, Cornelius N. Rail of Miami and Jason Rain of Gainesville.
